Sarah Uttley and Katy Post
We are two friends, Sarah and Katy, with a shared love for all things interiors - from rich colour, bold patterns and lush fabrics to neutral palates, sleek fittings and minimalistic design. With numerous renovations between us, we decided to combine our experience and passion in Point Dorset Interiors.
We want you to come home each day to a beautiful, individual home that makes you smile, so that all that's left to do is kick your shoes off and enjoy!
Together we have great design skills and experience. Having both lived through renovations while juggling young families we understand how to create functional, inspiring spaces within budget and time constraints.
We'd love to help you achieve the space you've always dreamed of.
SARAH UTTLEY
My love for colour and pattern started as a child when I spent many hours colouring in designs created with my Granddad. My first foray into interior design was as a nine-year old when my brave parents allowed me to paint my bedroom a mix of watermelon pink and navy blue, inspired by a magazine picture!
While performing my day job as a communications consultant, I was often moonlighting with interiors on the side. A husband in the building industry and our combined love for bringing neglected properties back to life meant we always had (and continue to have!) a 'project' on the go.
Deciding it was time to give my creative side a bit more rein, I followed my heart and completed a Diploma of Interior Design. This also justified my many hours spent perusing interiors in magazines, design books and online (thank you Pinterest and Instagram).
I'm a dab hand at pulling together projects with that little bit of wow. I love to mix styles and colour while always ensuring the space works on a practical level. It’s my mission to understand how you will live within your house and interpret your tastes and needs into a beautiful reality.
KATY POST
From a young age I've been drawn to beautiful architecture and interiors. Growing up I spent my holidays surrounded by my aunty's amazing objet d'art collection and would lose many hours roaming the house, making new discoveries and coveting my favourite pieces. Her love of colour and sense of fun was always evident in the flamboyant floral fabrics around her home and has influenced my personal style for the better.
I have a good eye for how a room or house will come together and have delighted in helping many friends and family with their interior design projects as well as working with my husband on our extensive house renovation we now call home.
Art brings me great joy and inspiration and my love for it means I always keep an eye on the best and newest creative work across Australasia. I really enjoy finding that perfect piece no matter what the budget.
I love that everyone has their own unique sense of style, and I think it’s important that your home reflects yours.
